The Minnesota Twins made headlines this week when the Pohlad family, who has owned the team for 40 years, announced they would explore a sale of the team.
The news was shocking but welcomed for Twins fans who endured the worst public relations season in franchise history. But the next question is who could buy the team if the Pohlads make a deal official in the next calendar year.
The process will likely drag into next summer but with the cost of MLB franchises going up and demand at an all-time high, there should be several suitors who could be interested in buying the team.

Mark Davis
The comfort level of Twins fans would be at its peak if the team was sold to a local buyer and the Davis family could be a potential name that runs to the front of the line.
Davis, whose family runs Davisco foods and Cambria, is in the Minnesota Baseball hall of fame and is an avid baseball fan participating in Twins Fantasy Camps. According to a 2014 feature in the Star Tribune , Cambria CEO Marty Davis also had season tickets behind home plate and has a photo of him with Twins legend Harmon Killebrew in his office.
