Douglas Barnet Parker passed into his Heavenly home on October 10, 2024 surrounded by his family and friends. Doug entered this world on January 2, 1939 in the hamlet of Parker Town, which is now part of Ft Campbell. His parents were William Herbert Parker and Gustie Walker Parker. He spent many hours over his lifetime exploring the “Camp Area” on foot, quail hunting or riding bikes with special friend, Judge Bill Cobb. Doug’s family left Parker Town in 1942 to live in Big Rock, not far from Parker Town. He enjoyed a life surrounded by loving family and neighbors. He loved fast cars and motorcycles! His mother said she spent years on her knees praying for Doug’s safety. He was an incredible bird (quail) hunter and always owned the best bird dogs possible. It troubled him when Ft. Campbell took down all the fences, because the quail were no longer around.
