Spokane Valley shooting leaves one person dead

SPOKANE, Wash. — One person was shot in Spokane Valley early Saturday morning, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Department.

Around 6:15 AM, deputies from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and Spokane Valley responded to reports of a shooting in a parking lot on the corner of Argonne and Trent.

Multiple callers reported gunshots and a victim lying on the ground, with a possible suspect fleeing the scene.

Upon arrival, deputies said they found an adult male victim and began life-saving measures until firefighters arrived.

According to deputies, the man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

Major Crimes Detectives and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Unit are currently investigating the incident

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will later release the victim’s identity, cause, and manner of death.
