On April 3, 2019, Clayton County Police Department officers, led by Chief Kevin Roberts, responded to a shooting in the unincorporated Riverdale area. The victim, 26-year-old Robert Ragland, was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and later pronounced deceased at a local hospital. Investigators discovered that Ragland had been lured to College Park, Georgia, where he was robbed and fatally shot.
