SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego is inviting visitors to explore the enchanting glow of the ocean during two Halloween-themed events this October.
Halloween Aglow and Oceans at Night will feature the debut of the immersive Living Light Experience, which the aquariums says is designed to highlight the wonders of bioluminescent marine life.

What is the Living Light Experience?
The Living Light Experience offers an interactive station where guests can learn about bioluminescent plankton and how their glow is activated by movement. Attendees will also witness the stunning biofluorescence of corals and anemones under ultraviolet light, making this experience a must-see for ocean enthusiasts. This captivating exhibit is included with event admission.
Family fun at Halloween Aglow
Halloween Aglow returns for two nights on Oct. 25 and 26 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This family-friendly event, modeled after the aquarium’s popular Oceans at Night, combines Halloween festivities with educational experiences. Families can enjoy an evening filled with activities that celebrate the mysteries of the ocean after dark.
