Gunshot Victim’s Driver Injures 3 Nurses at Philadelphia Hospital

Three nurses were injured, one critically, in Philadelphia after being hit by a driver who arrived at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with a gunshot victim.

The nurses were struck while assisting the gunshot victim outside the emergency department. The driver fled the scene, leaving the nurses with injuries.

The critically injured nurse, a 36-year-old man, suffered facial injuries and internal bleeding. The other two nurses were also treated for injuries.

The hospital condemned the violence against healthcare workers, calling it an “unacceptable threat” and a “devastating” incident for the staff.

Philadelphia Councilmember Jamie Gauthier expressed horror at the event and praised the emergency room team for continuing to care for patients. She highlighted the importance of the hospital as a trauma center and emphasized the impact of gun violence on healthcare professionals.
