Tragedy struck near Tennessee State University (TSU) in Nashville on Saturday evening when gunfire erupted, killing one person and injuring at least 10 others.
The shooting occurred just before a homecoming football game between TSU and Eastern Illinois University. Police responded quickly and secured the scene.
The deceased victim was identified as a 24-year-old male. Five victims were transported to local hospitals by emergency services, while five others were brought by private vehicles.
Among the injured were three juveniles who were taken to a children’s hospital. It is believed that at least one of the injured was involved in the shooting.
Police continue to investigate the incident and have not released any information about potential suspects or motives.
