DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – Less than a week after Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris paid a visit to North Carolina , her running mate is set to do the same.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will be traveling to the Tar Heel State for the start of early voting on Thursday, according to the Harris Walz campaign.

The Democratic vice-presidential nominee is slated to make stops in Durham and Winston-Salem on the first day North Carolina residents can cast their ballots in person before November’s general election. The early voting period runs from Oct. 17 through Nov. 2.

This marks Walz’s second trip to the Triangle after coming to Raleigh shortly after accepting the nomination for vice president back in August. He also attended a rally in Asheville in September, nearly two weeks prior to Hurricane Helene hitting the area.
