NEW ORLEANS – Firefighters in New Orleans battled a 2-alarm house fire Saturday night in Algiers. It happened at about 9:00 p.m. in the 100 block of Vallette Street. Upon arrival, firefighters were confronted with a working fire in a two-story wood-framed dwelling. The first NOFD company arrived on the scene at 9:11 p.m. The home suffered significant damage on both the first and second floors in the rear of the building,” said a report from NOFD.
