Bears take 14-3 lead over Jaguars into halftime in London

A sluggish start and missed opportunities weighed the Chicago Bears down early against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday morning in London, but a much better second quarter helped the Bears take a 14-3 lead into halftime.

Chicago’s offense went three-and-out twice in the first quarter, losing long snapper Scott Daly to injury in the process . That means tight end Cole Kmet will be pressed into emergency duty as the long snapper for the rest of the game.

Speaking of Kmet, he also led the way for Bears receivers in the first 30 minutes, hauling in all four of his targets and racking up 43 yards and both touchdowns thanks to some nice after-the-catch effort. He’s also been perfect on two long snapping attempts.

The Bears looked like they were going to take a two-score lead late in the second quarter but they finally dialed up a deep shot and Caleb Williams’ drastically underthrown ball turned a possible DJ Moore touchdown into an interception.

Outside of the interception, Williams has been mostly good. He completed 12-of-15 passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns. He’s also the game’s leading rusher, tallying 56 yards on four carries.
