MUSCOGEE COUNTY, Ga. (WRBL)— WRBL is your local election quarters, responsible for bringing local contested races to the forefront of the November General Election. WRBL is working on speaking with candidates in each race and sharing their platform.
The first local race we are taking a look at is the race for Sheriff of Muscogee County. Democratic incumbent Greg Countryman has served one term as sheriff. He is being challenged by Republican Mark LaJoye.
Both candidates were asked the same questions and are as follows:
- What qualifies you to be the sheriff of Muscogee County?
- What is one aspect of the job you think you would be better at than your opponent?
- What is the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office role in fighting the criminal street gang problem that impacts our citizens?
- If elected, what is the first thing you’re going to do?
Their full responses can be viewed in the video player below.
