Happy Birthday Mr. Grinch
October 12 marked 67 years since Dr. Seuss published How the Grinch Stole Christmas in 1957. The book has been adapted many times, beginning in 1966 with the beloved animated TV special narrated by Boris Karloff.
In 1977, Halloween Is Grinch Night aired with the Grinch voiced by Hans Conried. The 2000 live-action feature film starring Jim Carey was followed by a 2007 musical and a 2018 animated film.

Next came a 2020 live television adaptation and an unauthorized 2022 slasher horror film. In 2023, there was a Wondery podcast. From now until after Christmas, the curmudgeon will be high-profile in Virginia.
Children will dress like the Grinch for Halloween and in Christmas parades. In November 2023, the Gradin Road Children’s Parade in Roanoke showcased three individuals dressed as the Christmas thief.
