Delaware man killed in 3-vehicle crash that shutdown I-95 Saturday identified

Delaware State Police have identified the victim of a fatal three-vehicle crash that closed southbound Interstate 95 for hours on Oct. 12.

Keith Turner-Simmons, 29, of Bear, died at the scene after being ejected from his Kia Forte, police said. Investigators reported Turner-Simmons was not wearing a seatbelt.

The collision occurred around 4:18 a.m. near Churchman’s Marsh. According to police, Turner-Simmons was driving in the right lane when his vehicle drove onto the shoulder, striking a stationary bucket truck. The impact caused the Kia to rebound into the center lane, where it collided with a Hyundai Tucson.

The bucket truck driver, a 61-year-old man from Mineral Point, Wisconsin, had pulled over to check his vehicle. He was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 45-year-old Hyundai driver from Bear was uninjured.
