Democrats Target NFL Battleground Games

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) plans to intensify its focus on football this Sunday by displaying messages over four NFL games in key battleground states.

The messages will promote Vice President Kamala Harris and criticize former President Donald Trump’s Project 2025 plan, which has faced significant Democratic opposition.

The DNC will display “Vote Kamala” messages over Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and “Sack Trump’s Project 2025!” banners over Lambeau Field in Green Bay and Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

A message reading “Go Birds! Sack Project 2025.

Vote Kamala” will also be flown over Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Democrats have been emphasizing football this election cycle, highlighting Vice President Harris’ connection to football through her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a former high school football coach. The Harris campaign has invested heavily in ads during college and pro football games.

Trump has also engaged with football, attending the Alabama-Georgia game and featuring former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher in an ad. In recent weeks, Trump has aired ads during football games criticizing Harris’ support for gender-affirming treatments.

The DNC has previously flown banners at baseball games, including during the Detroit Tigers’ playoff game against the Cleveland Guardians.
