Victim of fatal Minneapolis shooting identified as 18-year-old from Anoka

A teenage from Anoka has been confirmed as the victim of Thursday’s fatal shooting in north Minneapolis.

Isaiah Goodwin, 18, of Anoka, was found in an alleyway between Penn and Queen Avenue North after police responded to reports of a shooting on the 4200 block of Penn Avenue North at 4:20 p.m.

Despite lifesaving efforts from first responders, Goodwin died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

In an interview at the scene, Minneapolis Police Department public information officer Garrett Parten said it’s believed the victim and shooter were known to each other and that “drug activity” was involved in the shooting.

The suspected shooter was seen running from scene.

No arrests have been made in Goodwin’s killing.
