In a move that will benefit students looking to continue their education, Bishop State Community College has announced a new partnership with Alabama A&M University.

With officials from both schools coming together during the Gulf Coast Challenge, the agreement aims to make it easier for Bishop State students to transfer to Alabama A&M.

This partnership includes merit scholarships and additional perks that have many local students and their families excited about the future.

Scholarships to Lighten the Load

One of the key elements of this partnership is a set of 10 merit scholarships specifically for Bishop State graduates who meet the qualifications.

To qualify, students need to have completed 60 credit hours and maintain a GPA of at least 3.25.

The goal?

To ease the financial burden and give students an accessible path to a bachelor’s degree without breaking the bank.

For students who receive the scholarship, there’s an added bonus—if they maintain a GPA of 3.1 while completing 30 credit hours each academic year, they can keep the scholarship for up to four semesters.
