Sacramento bicyclist dies after being hit by drunk driver

(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a DUI incident that left a bicyclist dead Saturday night.

Around 11:30 p.m., SPD responded to the Marysville Boulevard and Main Avenue area for a crash between a vehicle and a bicyclist. At the scene, officers said they found a man who was pronounced dead by fire personnel. The involved vehicle fled before law enforcement arrived, however, police found him nearby.

SPD said the driver, a 53-year-old man from West Sacramento, “displayed objective signs of intoxication.” He was arrested for related charges.
