2 arrested after being discovered with illegal firearm, police say

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said officers arrested two people after finding them in possession of an illegal firearm in Southeast D.C.

Police said the arrest happened after officers saw “suspicious activity” while patrolling the area in the 5300 block of Queens Stroll Place.

Officers then recovered a 9mm handgun from a car and arrested two people.

MPD currently offers up to $2,500 for anonymous information on illegal firearms.
