California salad packaging company announces new line of organic greens, says it tastes better

Hippo Harvest, a pioneering grower, packer, and shipper of packaged salads, has announced the launch of its new USDA certified organic packaged salad product line. This innovative line features a wide variety of leafy greens sourced exclusively from the company’s state-of-the-art controlled environment agriculture (CEA) greenhouse, along with a hybrid blend of both greenhouse and field-grown greens.

Founded in 2019, Hippo Harvest operates a cutting-edge greenhouse facility in Pescadero, California, which offers several advantages over traditional field-grown organic produce. One of the key benefits is enhanced flavor; Hippo’s greens are noted for their superior taste, featuring less bitterness and a juicier mouthfeel than their field-grown counterparts.

The company’s unique growing system also significantly reduces food safety risks, mitigating concerns related to waterborne pathogens, mold, and mildew.
