Founded in 2019, Hippo Harvest operates a cutting-edge greenhouse facility in Pescadero, California, which offers several advantages over traditional field-grown organic produce. One of the key benefits is enhanced flavor; Hippo’s greens are noted for their superior taste, featuring less bitterness and a juicier mouthfeel than their field-grown counterparts.
The company’s unique growing system also significantly reduces food safety risks, mitigating concerns related to waterborne pathogens, mold, and mildew.
