Body recovered from Kings River in Reedley

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – An investigation is underway after a body was recovered from the Kings River in Reedley on Monday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies say around 12 p.m. they received a call from a person near the Kings River, southeast of the intersection of Nebraska and Macdonough avenues in Reedley.

Investigators report the caller advised the person they saw was partially submerged in water lying on a sandbar and motionless.

After emergency responders arrived, deputies say, together they removed the man from the river around 12:40 p.m. Deputies say the man was determined to be deceased.

Detectives say the Coroner’s Office and Crime Scene Unit are working to identify the man and determine if foul play was involved.
