Holiday lights are already up in in downtown Milwaukee. They’re for Halloween.

Holiday lights are coming early to downtown Milwaukee this year. But not for that holiday.

A Halloween village has been set up outside the Baird Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave. The outdoor display — which consists of a walk-through, 12-foot pumpkin and lighted figures of a ghost, scarecrow, Frankenstein’s monster and two witches — will be available to the public for free photo ops through Oct. 31, according to Milwaukee Downtown BID #21.

That same area also will be the site of downtown Milwaukee’s third annual Jack-o-Lantern Jubilee on Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be multiple family activities going on during the jubilee, including pumpkin decorating, face-painting, balloon art, story times, live entertainment and a children’s book sale. Guests are encouraged to dress in costume, and the first 400 guests will get to pick out a free pumpkin.
