OKLAHOMA CITY — A former Norman High School teacher, whose teaching certification was revoked for sharing a link to an online library containing banned books , has asked a judge to restore her license to work in Oklahoma public schools.

Summer Boismier filed the request Friday in Oklahoma County District Court. She said the Oklahoma State Board of Education violated her First Amendment and due process rights when it revoked her certification on Aug. 22.

Her court filing contends state Superintendent Ryan Walters, who leads the state board, treated the “destruction of (Boismier’s) teaching career as a campaign promise to be fulfilled” rather than a decision based in fact.
