BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Alabama is scheduled to execute death-row inmate Derrick Dearman on Thursday, marking the state’s sixth execution this year and tying the record for the most executions in a single year in the past 50 years. The 35-year-old from Mississippi is set to die just eight years after being sentenced for the brutal 2016 murders of five people, including a pregnant woman and her unborn child.
