Dog trick-or-treat event to return to downtown Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Hounds of Halloween, the fun-filled dog trick-or-treating and costume contest event, will return to downtown Albany on Saturday, October 19. Over 20 businesses will participate from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tickets must be bought for each dog participating in Hounds of Halloween on the downtown Albany website . They can also be bought the day of the event in the Quackenbush Square courtyard next to the Olde English Pub and Pantry for an extra $5.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. Each registered dog and their humans will get an entry into the costume contest.

They will also get the official map guide with the participants of the event and a Hounds of Halloween tote bag. The first 250 registered guests will get a signature downtown dog treat by The Doggy Bag.

The Canine Costume Contest first, second, and third place winners will be determined by public voting in a photo album posted to the official Facebook event and on the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District ‘s Facebook page. There will also be a panel of judges choosing winners for the Judge’s Choice awards.
