SpaceX Releases Stunning Footage of Starship Launch and Landing

SpaceX has shared breathtaking video footage of its fifth Starship test flight, showcasing the launch and landing of the massive rocket.

The launch video captures the 120-meter-tall Starship roaring into the sky from Boca Chica, Texas, generating an impressive 17 million pounds of thrust. The next clip displays the incredible moment when the Super Heavy booster returned to Earth, captured by the launch tower’s giant mechanical arms just minutes after deploying the Starship into orbit.

The final video offers a rocket’s-eye view of the vehicle touching down on one of the arms. This successful catch marked a significant achievement for SpaceX, as it prepares the Starship for NASA’s Artemis III mission, which aims to land the first woman and person of color on the moon.

Before Artemis III, SpaceX will continue testing the Starship to enhance its capabilities. The Starship is designed to carry up to 100 crew members in a single flight and could potentially be used for future missions to Mars.
