California’s Best County to Live in is also one of State’s Most Expensive, new ranking finds

Marin County has been ranked the best county to live in California, according to a list compiled by 24/7 Wall St. The county boasts an impressive average life expectancy of 85.3 years and an average household income of $142,019.

The list also highlights Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, and Mono counties among the top five places to live in the state.

24/7 Wall St. used an index inspired by the Human Development Index (HDI) to rank counties based on life expectancy, education, and poverty rates, examining data from 57 counties across California, according to the ranking by 24/7 Wall St.
