2-year-old girl hospitalized in northwest Charlotte shooting: CMPD

CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A 2-year-old girl is in the hospital following a shooting in northwest Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 2:38 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, in the 4600 block of Wildwood Avenue in northwest Charlotte.

A 2-year-old girl was found suffering from injuries and was transported to an area medical center with serious injuries, according to the police report.

Five victims are listed in the incident, however, no other injuries have been reported. Damage to the home and two vehicles from the shooting was also reported.

A rifle was listed as the weapon used, according to the police report.

There is no mention of an arrest at this time and this remains an active investigation.
