Alabama legend delivers ominous Texas verdict with ace up Longhorns’ sleeve

Former Alabama star Greg McElroy believes Texas is striking fear into its rivals in the race for the national championship, with the No.1 Longhorns yet to reach their full potential.

Texas (6-0) enhanced its credentials as the top team in the nation with a dominant victory over Oklahoma in Saturday’s Red River showdown, romping to a 34-3 win at the Cotton Bowl. The win bolstered the Longhorns’ impressive resume, which also includes a blowout road victory at Michigan earlier in the season.

McElroy, quarterback of the Alabama team that defeated Texas in the 2010 national championship game, believes the Longhorns’ performance in Dallas should send shockwaves to teams across the country because of the imperfections in Steve Sarkisian’s team’s display.

McElroy is sure Texas is the “most complete team” in college football, but believes it still has a long way to go to realize its full potential.
