Pensacola police arrest 20-year-old accused of burglarizing 7 churches over 3-week span

The Pensacola Police Department announced Tuesday the arrest of 20-year-old who has allegedly been burglarizing churches throughout the city.

PPD says Jeremy Lang was arrested for Monday after an officer saw a person fitting the alleged burglar’s description walking on Davis Highway near Woodland Drive.

Lang allegedly had burglarized at least seven area churches between Sept. 24 and Oct. 12, and officers discovered him Monday carrying “burglary tools” along with marijuana and a stolen firearm taken from a vehicle in Pensacola.

“Lang has been charged with with one of the church burglaries, and additional burglary charges in the the other cases are pending,” a PPD news release said. “An inventory of items taken from the churches is still being compiled.”

As of Tuesday morning, Lang was held in Escambia County Jail without bond on charges of burglary, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, providing a false name to law enforcement, possession of a concealed firearm while under 21 years old, possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent and possession of burglary tools.
