Two nights ago in Compton, California, the quiet of the evening was shattered by a heart-wrenching act of cruelty. Under the cover of darkness, cowards abandoned three small puppies at the corner of a bustling intersection. The loyal young dogs huddled together, not daring to move, their eyes scanning the distance for their absent owners. They waited, longing for a return that would never come. Concerned citizens soon noticed the forlorn puppies. Attempts to lure them to safety were met with fear; the moment someone got close, the puppies darted away, frightened and confused. One Good Samaritan watched helplessly as the puppies squeezed under a fence into a nearby business area.
The next morning, the dedicated Good Samaritan returned, armed with treats and a renewed determination to save the puppies before they could fall victim to the dangers of the busy road. Traffic was heavy when Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, arrived to assist. Only one puppy remained at the corner, steadfast where they had been abandoned.
