Eastbound Beltline at Gammon Road back open after crash, fire

MADISON, Wis. — A five-vehicle crash and fire caused backups along the Beltline eastbound at Gammon Road Tuesday morning. All lanes have since reopened.

The crash was reported just after 7:50 a.m. Tuesday. Wisconsin Department of Transportation cameras in the area showed at least five vehicle pulled to the lefthand side of the road.

Smoke was seen coming from one of the vehicles. Madison Fire Department crews were at the scene.

The Flex lane and leftmost lane were blocked due to the crash. Dane County dispatchers said there was no report of injuries. Traffic delays stretched as far back as Mineral Point Road.

All lanes reopened at around 8:45 a.m.
