Months long attempted murder suspect chase ends in San Joaquin County

(FOX40.COM) — A person facing a life sentence for attempted murder attempted to slip multiple law enforcement agencies in San Joaquin by changing clothes with another person, according to the California Highway Patrol.

On Oct. 10, CHP’s Valley Division Air Operations H-24 team was called out to the Stockton area to assist US Marshals and the Stockton Police Department in locating the suspect.

For months the suspect has evaded law enforcement and forced several pursuits with law enforcement.

On Thursday, the man was located at a residence in a rural area near Stockton and was being pursued by marshals with the assistance of the Stockton Police Department’s Falcon10 helicopter.

US Marshals believed they had the suspect in custody after two people exited the home wearing similar clothes to what the suspect was reported to have been wearing.

It turned out the two people had swapped clothes with the suspect, who Stockton PD’s Falcon10 later spotted on a nearby property.
