A 4-year-old boy died hours after he was found burned, freezing and malnourished inside his Harlem apartment late Sunday – while his mom is being questioned in the suspicious death, cops and sources said.
The boy’s mom called 911, claiming she found her son unresponsive inside their apartment on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. near West 144th Street around 7:40 p.m., according to cops and law enforcement sources.

The NYPD responded to the scene – as did EMS workers, who rushed the boy to Harlem Hospital, cops said.
Medical staff at the hospital found that the child had a burn mark on his chest, was severely malnourished and suffered from hypothermia, according to the sources.

The boy died at the hospital early Monday morning.
His mother was taken into custody and brought to Harlem’s 32nd Precinct, where she was later charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.
