VSP identifies man shot, killed by Fluvanna deputies

FLUANNA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police (VSP) has released more information about the deadly officer-involved shooting in Fluvanna County on Friday — including the identity of the man who was shot.

According to VSP, Fluvanna County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on the 400 block of Gravel Hill Road on Friday, Oct. 11 for a report of an armed domestic disturbance.

When they got to the home, the deputies found that the suspect, 37-year-old Kenneth Wayne Foster, Jr., was hiding inside one of the walls of the home.

When they tried to get him out, Foster fired at the deputies and they returned fire. Foster was later pronounced dead and a firearm was found nearby. The deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave with pay, VSP did not say how many deputies were involved.

This incident is still under investigation by VSP.
