Couple Lives Rent-Free as International Housesitters

World Travelers Live Rent-Free by Housesitting

My husband and I travel the globe by housesitting for strangers. In exchange for free accommodation, we care for their homes, pets, and plants. Our living expenses are virtually nonexistent, allowing us to maintain this lifestyle indefinitely.

Housesitting involves taking care of someone’s property while they’re away. We typically stay for free and handle tasks like pet care, plant watering, and security. This allows us to travel affordably and explore new destinations.

We’ve visited 15 countries and made countless friends through housesitting. It enables us to travel slowly and immerse ourselves in local cultures. We can also work remotely while housesitting, saving money on rent.

Our lack of a permanent home may raise eyebrows, but it works for us. We’ve established a process for securing housesits, including building references and creating a well-rounded profile.

While there are challenges, such as the cost of travel between housesits, we appreciate the financial savings and unique experiences. Housesitting allows us to live minimally, care for animals, and create lasting memories.

We’ve tried traditional living arrangements but ultimately prefer the flexibility and adventure of housesitting. We believe life is too short to live conventionally and encourage others to embrace their passions and live as they desire.
