IDENTIFIED: Suspect, victims in crash that killed 2 women in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The suspect arrested and both victims killed in a deadly crash in Fresno late Wednesday night were named by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.

The incident began after the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect failed to stop for law enforcement and crashed into a home in the area of Cedar Avenue and Nevada Avenue in southeast Fresno. Two sisters were living inside the home and both died following the incident.

The suspect was named as 18-year-old Adam Canales of Fresno; the two women killed following the crash were named as 25-year-old Mang Yang and 18-year-old Eliza Yang of Fresno.

According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) were on patrol in the area when they saw a disturbance between possible gang members. As they got closer, one got into a white Chevrolet Tahoe and drove away from the scene. The driver did not stop for law enforcement and ultimately crashed into the house at Cedar Avenue and Nevada Avenue in Fresno, where the two sisters were living. He then fled from the vehicle and was arrested a short time later.
