IDENTIFIED: San Diego man dead after being hit twice in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – The unhoused man who was killed after being hit twice in Fresno on Wednesday night has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

The Coroner’s Office identified the man as 28-year-old Luis Hidalgo Corado of San Diego.

On Wednesday at around 8:10 p.m., the Fresno Police Department responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of Villa and Olive avenues in Fresno.

Upon arrival, officers say they learned a driver was traveling westbound on Olive Avenue at Villa Avenue when they struck Hidalgo. Police say Hidalgo, a member of the unhoused community, was carrying several items and was blocking the roadway in a dark area.

Police say the driver pulled over and stayed on scene when a secondary vehicle hit Hidalgo as well. The second vehicle, believed to be a mid-sized sedan, fled the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation.
