On the morning of Oct. 16, Tender Lovin’ Chix, a chicken and fried rice restaurant that opened in August , was broken into.
“While it’s been a tough start to the day, we are incredibly grateful that no one was harmed,” the restaurant wrote in a social media post that included security camera footage of the robbery.
While no one was harmed, the restaurant was damaged, co-owner Marques Johnson tells Bring Me The News . “Only thing we can really do right now is pray we’re good,” he says. “Now, we’re trying to fix everything. A lot of stuff was broken. They broke into the safe [and] took money.”
Despite the damage, Tender Lovin’ Chix is operating during its usual hours, and it’s encouraging anyone who wants to support the restaurant, which started as a food truck in 2023, to come in for a meal.
“Thank you to everyone who has already reached out with kind words,” TLC wrote on Instagram. “Your encouragement reminds us of how strong and amazing our Minneapolis community truly is. Together, we move forward stronger!”
