Rain drops will be falling on some of our heads to start the weekend

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – A nearly stationary cold front draped over the northwestern part of the state will be not only the partition between cool and warmer temperatures but also the focus for showers and a few thunderstorms this evening into the overnight. The better chance of rain and isolated thunderstorms this evening near the frontal boundary from southwest Nebraska northeast to north central Nebraska. It will be scattered in nature, but some amounts of over half an inch will be possible. The vast majority of the area will get very little to no rain overnight into tomorrow morning. Some light rain may linger into Saturday morning but as the day goes on, the chance of showers should fade away. Clouds should also retreat a bit through the day. We will start out with mostly cloudy skies, but by the afternoon there should be more sun. So it should unfold as a decent day tomorrow with a lot less wind than what we have had the past several days. High temperatures will range from the lower 60s northwest to the upper 70s east. The weather remains quiet and seasonably mild Saturday night. Stronger winds return Sunday out of the south at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. This, and more sunshine will help warm temperatures up into the mid to upper 70s and lower 80s Sunday afternoon.
