Family Relocates But Left Beloved Dog Behind – Now He’s Waiting for a New Family at the Shelter

When families move, pets are usually part of the journey, but that wasn’t the case for a 5-year-old dog named Charlie. This lovable pit bull mix now finds himself at the Humane Society of Broward County in Dania Beach, Florida, after his former family chose not to take him along when they relocated.

A Plea for a New Home

The Humane Society shared a touching video on Instagram showing Charlie and another dog named Birdie eagerly waiting by their enclosure door, tails wagging, hopeful for a second chance at happiness.

The video, which has already garnered 130,000 views since June 2024, showcases the deep desire these dogs have for a home filled with care and affection.

Cherie Wachter, vice president of marketing at the shelter, urged those considering a new pet to adopt rather than buy. “If you have room in your heart and home, please consider adopting a pet instead of buying. You will be saving a life,” she said.

Charlie: A Family Dog in Need of Love

Charlie, described in the shelter’s social media post as a “great family dog,” had once enjoyed a cozy life with his previous owners. Now, however, he is looking for a new family to call his own. He is affectionate, well-behaved, and eager for a home where he can again be surrounded by love.
