Novato police rescue cat stuck under car

(KRON) — The Novato Police Department (NPD) rescued an animal near the DeLong Avenue overpass Thursday.

NPD said a driver reported that he saw a cat on the road and slammed on the brakes to avoid any kind of accident.

The animal was not hit, but it did make its way into the car, said Novato police. Officials were able to get the cat out safely sometime later.

The cat required a cast for a broken leg but is expected to make a full recovery at the Marin Humane Society.

NPD said when its traffic team responded to the call, it initially appeared to be a collision involving three cars, but that was not the case.

Novato police thanks community members, the City of Novato Public Works and ATA Towing for their help during the incident.
