Ducks Dominate First Half at Purdue, Lead 21-0 at the Break

Oregon won the toss and elected to receive. A flat route to Tez Johnson and a quick burst by Jordan James got a first down.

On first down the Boilermakers fooled Dillon Gabriel by giving him a “give” read with the outside defender staying home and wrapping him up for a two yard loss, but on 2nd and 12, Gabriel made a strong throw to Evan Stewart on the out route for a first down.

Then Oregon took a deep shot to Evan Stewart, who caught it for a 49-yard gain inside the five. A false start backed them up, but on second and goal from the 8, James burst right up the middle behind blocks by Laloulu and Harper for an 8-yard TD, 7 plays, 75 yards and a 7-0 lead. No letdown apparent.

Immediately the Ducks looked poised and focused, overcoming a negative play and a penalty to score with ease.

They stacked up a first down run by Mockobee for two, but an end around on the left side gained 11 off a good block by Mockobee. Browne kept left. Tuioti drew a bead on him but the elusive redshirt freshman got away.
