City of Albany Receives Grant for Cumberland Church Preservation Project – Public Invited To Comment

Albany, OR – The City of Albany has been awarded a grant of $1,647 through the federal Historic Preservation Fund, administered by the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office, to support the restoration of a stained glass window in the historic Cumberland Church building, located at 1400 Santiam Rd SE.

This grant helps fund local preservation projects aimed at maintaining the historical significance of important structures. The Cumberland Church restoration project seeks to preserve the building’s unique architectural features, including the stained glass windows.

The Historic Preservation Fund was established under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and provides matching grants to states for historic preservation activities. The program is overseen by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service and administered in Oregon by the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office.
