The LA Clippers are in a rut with Kawhi’s injury and the others must step up

Another chapter in Kawhi’s injury saga is here, and it’s time for the team to step up.

The Los Angeles Clippers have had Kawhi Leonard since the 2019/20 season, but they have always struggled with a dilemma when he gets injured. It has happened again, as the Clippers will have to start the 2024/25 season without their superstar forward.

Due to that injury, the rest of the team should be responsible for stepping up. It will be challenging to fill in for Leonard, but that is the name of the game in the NBA. Life moves forward, and others must settle into new roles until their superstar returns. Former Clippers guard Lou Williams thinks the rest of the team must be ready to fill in for their star player.

“If I’m a Terance Mann who just got a new deal, or a Norm Powell, this is their opportunity. Kawhi will be back when he’s back. Other than that, we’re pros too,” Lou said on Run It Back. “Those are big shoes to fill, but they should be excited about the opportunity to play extended minutes, play bigger roles, and still give this team a chance to win basketball games.”
