High School Homecoming Shooting Leaves 3 Dead

Tragedy struck a Mississippi high school homecoming event on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to eight others.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. during a trail ride five miles from Lexington, Mississippi, after a homecoming football game.

According to Sheriff Willie March, a confrontation broke out among the group, leading to the mass shooting. Two young men from Durant and a young woman from Kosciusko were fatally wounded.

The injured victims were transported to hospitals in Jackson via ambulance, with their conditions ranging from minor to severe.

The incident occurred following the homecoming game at Holmes County Central High School. Sheriff March stated that the game had ended without incident, and the shooting remains under investigation.
