Juan Soto home run: Yankees star powers New York to the World Series with go-ahead ALCS blast

Juan Soto already has a championship under his belt, but the biggest moment of his career might have come Saturday night in Cleveland.

Faced with a Guardians team that just would not go away, Soto came to the plate with two runners on base and two outs in the top of the 10th inning with the score tied 2-2. He missed a 1-1 pitch and knew it instantly, nodding his head. After fouling off four consecutive pitches, Soto got one more pitch to hit. He didn’t miss.

Soto blasted a go-ahead 3-run home run off Guardians rookie Hunter Gaddis, clearing the centerfield wall to create a moment that will go down in the Yankees’ storied history. The Yankees went on to win 5-2 and clinch the series in five games.

Here’s a look at Soto’s home run and his reaction as he rounded the bases.
