A 42-year-old Florida Woman Wins $1 Million from Scratch-Off Ticket

Linda Johnson, a 42-year-old resident of Palm Beach Gardens, has turned a $50 scratch-off ticket into a life-changing win. On Friday, the Florida Lottery announced that Johnson won a $1 million prize from the popular 500X The Cash scratch-off game.

Johnson purchased her lucky ticket from Stop Wise, located at 9762 Gardens East Drive. The odds of winning a prize in the 500X The Cash game are 1-in-4.23, making her win a remarkable stroke of luck.

Lottery officials shared that Johnson opted to take her winnings as a one-time lump-sum payment of $640,000. The convenience store that sold the ticket will also receive a $2,000 bonus for making the sale.

Johnson’s win adds to a growing list of $1 million winners from scratch-off games in Florida, with recent winners hailing from Clearwater, Miami, and Jacksonville.

If you’re feeling lucky, the next big opportunity to win comes in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing, which has climbed to an estimated $437 million.
