Waymo Will Give a $3 Credit to Riders Taking Robotaxis to Public Transit Stations

Waymo has announced the launch of a new public transit credit program aimed at encouraging San Francisco commuters to use more public transportation. The one-month pilot program, which runs through November 15, will provide riders with $3 in Waymo credits for trips to select public transit destinations in the Bay Area.

The designated public transit stops where riders can earn credits include:

  • 4th & King
  • 22nd Street
  • West Portal
  • Glen Park
  • Revere/Shafter
  • Balboa Park
  • Daly City
  • Colma

Waymo officials explained that the program is designed to make commuting more accessible by integrating ride-hailing services with existing public transportation. Accumulated credits from the pilot program will be available for riders to use until December 31, 2024.

This initiative is part of Waymo’s broader efforts to support sustainable transportation solutions in urban areas. By incentivizing rides to and from key public transit hubs, the company hopes to reduce reliance on private vehicles, alleviating congestion and contributing to greener city mobility.
