Currently, the NYC government offers about 350 entry-level positions, many of which don’t require a civil service exam and only a little work experience.
According to the JobsNYC portal, the majority of the available positions in the five boroughs are full-time and work for various city agencies. Job titles range from Public Health Assistant to Catch Basin Inspector.
Here are some of the current open places in Staten Island, according to the portal:
- Community Liaison for the Richmond County District Attorney. $24 to $30 per hour.
- Office Associate, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, $45,040 to $51,796 annually.
- Supervisor Painter, Department of Transportation; $57.90 per hour.
- Case Management Worker, Department of Social Services, $45,329 to $52,128 annually.
- Cancer Case Management Nurse, FDNY, $106,301 annually
