J-Dub and I-Hart show some progress during Thunder practice

It was an ominous end to the 2024 NBA preseason for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Entering the early slate riding high thanks to all the momentum the offseason generated, the last thing on the team’s mind was dealing with early injuries.

While two minor contributors, Kenrich Williams and Jaylin Williams, were sidelined early, it didn’t have nearly the effect injuries to Jalen Williams and Isaiah Hartenstein had.

The Thunder stars wrapped up the preseason on a forgettable note, with J-Dub buckling his knee against the Atlanta Hawks and I-Hart suffering a fractured hand in the game prior.

Making progress

Hartenstein won’t be re-evaluated for at least another month, which temporarily puts him outside the team’s picture to start the season. Oklahoma City aims for a fast start and will need everyone to star in their own roles but will have to do it without the big man’s services.

On Saturday, Isaiah was a light participant during the Thunder’s practice and was seen getting up shots with his non-injured hand.
